The Manufacture Association of Israel is the Major business organization in Israel

The Manufacturer's Association of Israel (MAI) is serving as umbrella organization for industrialists in Israel for more than 90 years. The MAI and its members have led the economy since the early days of Israel, guiding Israel towards its current technological power and economic prosperity. The Israeli industry plays a key role in all spheres of life, ranging from defense, immigrant absorption and support for outlying regions of the country, to substantial investment in education and the community.

More than 2,000 organization and industrial plants, employing over 400,000 workers, are members of the MAI.

Members benefit from a wide range of support and services on both a national level and day-to-day factory level.

The MAI provides strong backing for manufacturers and represents all branches of industry as Hi-Tech, Textiles, Chemical, Pharmaceuticals, Environment, Food, Metal, Electric and Consumer and Construction products.

Unified as one entity, the MAI's members represent the leading economic power in the Israeli economy. The MAI is actively involved in decisions made on the state and macro-economic levels and serves as a bridge to global economic systems. The MAI also represents employers in their negotiations with the Histadrut which act as the labor federation and the Israeli government, with an emphasis on improving the business environment and developing Israeli industry.

Over the years, it has also played an important role in shaping labor relations and creating appropriate and effective communication channels. The president of the MAI also serves as the chairman of the presidency of employers and businesses.

The MAI is home to forums and committees for cross-organizational issues. The industrialists who participate in these forums set out the activities and policies which will shape Israel economy and business sector activity.
